Whether you’ve been thinking about it for months or just got inspired by a glowing friend, deciding to get aesthetic injections is a big (and exciting!) step. But let’s be real, anything involving needles can be a little nerve-wracking, especially the first time.

So, what actually happens at an aesthetic injection appointment? Spoiler: it’s not scary, it’s not painful (really!), and it’s all about helping you look refreshed, not frozen.

Here’s a peek behind the curtain, so you can arrive informed, relaxed, and ready to glow.

Step 1: The Consultation – Let’s Talk Goals

Before any needles come out, we’ll sit down and talk.

  • What bothers you? Is it forehead lines, smile folds, or just feeling a little "tired" in the mirror?

  • What are your goals? Subtle smoothing? A lifted look? Plumper lips?

  • This is also where we will go over your budget and treatment plan. There will be no surprises when it's time to pay.. I ensure we are both on the same page before we proceed.

This is your time to ask questions. I’ll also go over your medical history to make sure everything is safe and tailored to you.

Hot tip: Good injectors don’t just look at your face—they listen to your goals. We’re here to enhance your natural beauty, not change how you look.

Step 2: Before Photos: Your Personal Glow-Up Tracker

We’ll take a few “before” shots for your chart. This helps us track your progress and results over time. It’s also super satisfying to look back and see how far you’ve come.

Step 3: Prep & Numbing – Comfort Is Key

Your skin will be cleaned and prepped, and depending on the treatment, a topical numbing cream may be applied. (For most people, tox doesn’t need numbing. Filler areas like lips? Yes, please!)

We’ll chat through everything we’re doing so there are no surprises.

Step 4: The Injections – Quick and Surprisingly Tolerable

Most injections take under 15 minutes. You'll feel a little pinch—think more "eyebrow tweeze" than "vaccine shot." Many people are shocked at how quick and easy it is.

We use tiny, medical-grade needles and advanced techniques to keep discomfort and bruising to a minimum.

Step 5: Post-Treatment Tips & Care

After your treatment, we’ll give you personalized aftercare instructions. This usually includes:

  • No heavy workouts or laying down for 4–6 hours.

  • Avoiding alcohol and NSAIDs for 24 hours (to reduce bruising).

  • No facials or massages for 48 hours.

You can return to work, run errands, or grab a smoothie—most people go right back to their day!

When Will I See Results?

  • Botox: Takes about 3–7 days to kick in, with full results in 2 weeks.

  • Filler: You’ll see an immediate difference, though mild swelling may last a few days.

We’ll schedule a follow-up if needed, especially if it’s your first time, to make sure you’re loving your results.

Final Thoughts: It’s Normal to Be Nervous!

First appointments are about learning, not pressure. You can even come in just for a consultation—no obligation to treat that day.

Remember: the goal isn’t to look different. It’s to look like you—just refreshed, well-rested, and maybe a little more confident in your selfies.
